Helen Dale

Partner

Helen Dale has been the principal of her own firm for 6 years before merging to form Dale & Younis Legal. Graduating in 2007 from Deakin University, Helen holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice). She was admitted to practice in 2009.

Helen has practiced exclusively in the Children’s Court since 2010. 

Helen’s extensive experience in the area allows her to advocate effectively for her clients to assist them in achieving the best possible outcome. She provides straightforward and quality legal advice and is compassionate and understanding about her client’s circumstances.

Helen is a well-respected and effective advocate who takes immense pride in her work for her clients. 

Helen is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and is on the Victoria Legal Aid panel for child protection, family violence and summary crime (Youth Crime) matters.

Melanie Younis

Partner

Melanie was admitted to practice in April, 2007 and graduated Deakin University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts with distinction. 

After a few years of working in commercial litigation, Melanie commenced working in the Children’s Court jurisdiction in 2010 and since that time has dedicated her career to assisting children, parents and carers in the Children’s Court.

Melanie has a down to earth and empathetic way of communicating with her clients and is a passionate advocate. Melanie is well regarded for her strategic advice and measured approach to case management.

Melanie has been an accredited specialist in Children’s Law with the Law Institute of Victoria since 2012.  She is on the Victoria Legal Aid panel for child protection, family violence and summary crime (Youth Crime) matters.
